KiCAD PCB
- TRACKS
- Generally red F.Cu go horizontally, with blue B.Cu going vertically. Use vias as required where cannot route past an existing track
- GROUND PLANE
- When all tracks (exc GND) connected, do B.Cu zone only to start and get all GND connected together on B.Cu only. Break blue tracks with red F.Cu links to allow B.Cu ground plane to flow into gapped areas. Can also run through all blue tracks and replace with red where practical, to keep tracks largely on F.Cu side
- When all GND connected ok in DRC, then create F.Cu ground plane and flow (right-click on B.Cu plane and Zones -> Duplicate to new layer). Check for gaps and either tweak tracks to allow F.Cu to flow, or use via through to B.Cu plane
